此曲原所有權的歌名為《9,999,999 Years》，為美國鄉村歌手Razzy Balley所寫並於1966錄唱發行，而未能進入排行榜。1976，歌手Dickey Lee翻唱此曲，獲得鄉村單曲排行榜的第3名，也同時打進熱門榜第52名，雖然名次不高，卻是Dickey Lee唯一一首橫跨鄉村與流行榜的熱門曲。

前不久電視還有在播販售「西洋經典老歌CD」的廣告，此曲也被列為樣板歌曲之一，可見當年流行的程度。適逢「亂談」到第999首，特選此曲名來湊個熱鬧。

失戀後真的要暴哭猛流淚嗎？療傷之後回頭去看，多半會覺得有些不值得。天涯何處無芳草呀！
