此首《Stop Draggin' My Heart Around》為美國歌手Tom Petty與他專屬樂隊The Hearybreakers的吉他手Mike Campbell所合寫，而且已錄有他們的版本。此曲之後會成為與女歌手Stevie Nicks合唱，關鍵在於Jimmy Lovine這位老兄。Jimmy Lovine曾擔任過Tom Petty & The Hearybreakers唱片的共同製作人，知道有這首歌，而將之推薦給Stevie Nicks ( 有無事先徵得Tom Petty的同意，說法不一，而Petty之前有提供另首歌給Nicks則為事實。)，反正，後來Nicks就到錄音室和Petty及樂團成員錄了這首歌，並收錄在她1981的首張個人專輯《Bella Donna》中。單曲的成績相當耀眼，在告示牌的熱門榜獲得第3名。
