老歌亂談(865)Yellow Bird
一直以為《Yellow Bird》是首美國民謠，而原曲卻是19世紀的Haiti ( 海地 ) 歌曲 ---《Choucoune》，歌詞為由該國文豪級的作家Oswald Durand於1883所寫的一首抒情詩，後1893由男鋼琴家Michel Mauléart Monton ( 父為海地人，母為美國人，出生於紐奧良。) 將之譜曲，首度於海地首都太子港演出，之後也成為當地的流行音樂。再之後，此曲分別由美國、海地女歌手於1949及1953錄製成唱片發行。
英文版的《Yellow Bird》首由Norman Luboff合唱團於1957錄唱發行。但歌詞內容的「黃鳥」，卻與原曲幾無關聯，除了原詩 ( 歌詞 ) 中出現過的一字「ti zwazo 」( 為「little bird」之意 )。 ( 另註：原歌名「Choucoune」應是一位女孩的名字。) 1959，美國黑人男子團體The Mills Brothers的版本在告示牌排行榜獲得第70名，此曲才流行了開來。1961，Arthur Lyman Group的演奏版獲得排行榜第4名，也是最為成功成績最佳的版本。
