老歌亂談(854)Just Because
上上禮拜天晚上看Fox電影台的首映片《The Hitman's Bodyguard》( 台譯：殺手保鑣 )，影片故事平淡，槍戰、打鬥誇張，不太合台長我的口味，所以未等看完結局就先睡了，而倒是在片中聽到了這首《Just Because》的片段。

而好景不常。1954，Lloyd Price被徵召當兵去了，等服役完回來，情況丕變，他在公司的地位被Little Richard給取代，甚至原來幫他開車的表弟Larry Williams，也成為了同公司的歌手，並發行了歌曲。想當時的Lloyd Price一定覺得很不是滋味，最後終於和朋友另組了KRC唱片公司。而這首《Just Because》即是該公司於1957的「首發砲」，並一舉中的，在R&B排行榜獲得了第3名，距他之前的歌曲入榜，已睽違了有4年之久。
英國披頭合唱團於1970散夥後各自發展，主唱John Lennon於1975翻唱此曲，並收錄在他《Rock 'n' Roll》專輯中。John Lennon在歌詞中作了些改變及加了些口白，感覺像是在述說他自己的故事。歌曲最後的Goodbye，再映照John Lennon於1980遭槍擊身亡，聽來頗令人傷感。此為分手的情歌，歌詞「Darling, I would rather let you go」，雖百般不捨，還是寧願放手。這也是「愛妳不到，祝妳幸福！」的良好範例。
