老歌亂談(797)North to Alaska
此曲為1960的喜劇電影《North to Alaska》( 台譯：北國尋金記 ) 的同名主題曲，歌曲內容也是在敘說電影的故事。主角Sam McCord ( 約翰韋恩飾 ) 受淘金夥伴George Pratt ( 史都華格蘭傑飾 ) 之託，赴西雅圖將其未婚妻接來，熟知未婚妻已另嫁他人，結果找了位神女Michelle “Angel”( 卡普西妮飾 ) 來瓜代，接著發生了一連串錯綜複雜的劇情。
女主角Capucine原為法國模特兒，1990因生病及憂鬱從她在瑞士的八樓寓所躍下身亡，享年62歲。
此首《North to Alaska》係由鄉村搖滾歌手Johnny Horton主唱，1960在告示牌西部/鄉村榜奪得冠軍，另在熱門榜也獲得第4名。可惜Horton未能好好的享受此殊榮，此曲才發行沒多久，Horton即因車禍不幸身亡 ( 35歲 )。他的妻子，之前也曾是鄉村歌手指標人物Hank Williams的老婆，連嫁了兩任歌手丈夫均早逝，這種人生的挫折頗值同情。而從另一方面來看，繼承了豐厚的歌曲版稅權利金，也足堪以安慰了！
