老歌亂談(748)Storms Never Last
這首歌是美國鄉村女歌手Jessi Colter所寫，Colter除了在1975有一首冠軍暢銷曲《I'm Not Lisa》外，其最知名的是嫁給了Waylon Jennings，並和夫婿在音樂上的一些合作。而Waylon Jennings又何許人也？其實Jennings出道甚早，後受到搖滾紅歌手Buddy Holly的賞識，並受僱參加Holly「Winter Dance Party 」的巡演及擔任Bass手。1959/02/03，在愛阿華的演唱之後，Holly租了架4人座的小飛機要飛下一站的明尼蘇達，Waylon Jennings自動讓位給得了流感綽號The Big Bopper的J.P. Richardson Jr.，而自己隨其他團員搭乘巴士。未料Holly的小飛機失事，包含機師在內的4人俱身亡 ( 此意外空難事件即為知名的「The Day the Music Died」)，Jennings因好心而逃過了一劫。之後Jennings於鄉村音樂發展，並參與「Outlaw Country← 以電吉他伴奏所展現非傳統的鄉村音樂」的行動成員，亦是為知名的鄉村歌手。
Jessi Colter和Waylon Jennings於1969結婚 ( 分別為Colter的第二任丈夫及Jennings的第4任妻子 )，由於Jennings吸食古柯鹼及其他的藥物問題，倆人的婚姻風風雨雨，幾乎瀕臨到要離婚的地步，但Colter終於還是忍了下來，並協助Jennings戒毒，而Jennings的身體狀況實在不佳 ( 1988曾做心臟繞道手術，2001則是左腳截肢。)， 至2002終於因糖尿病的併發症於睡夢中過世，享年64歲。
此首歌收錄於1981夫妻合唱的專輯《Leather and Lace》中，歌曲內容述說的是關於他們飄搖的婚姻生活，而Jessi Colter不離不棄的幫助丈夫遠離毒品並重新站上舞台，也成為了鄉村歌手中的一段令人感動的愛情佳話。
