老歌亂談(607)Don't Go Breaking My Heart
這首歌是英國歌手Elton John和他長期的寫歌夥伴Bernie Taupin，為了模仿Motown( 摩城唱片公司，早期旗下清一色皆為黑人歌手及團體 ) 的曲風，像是Marvin Gaye和女歌手Kim Westonl或是Tammi Terrel深情款款的對唱，而各自使用了Ann Orson及Carte Blanche的筆名。

此曲女生的部份原屬意由英國女歌手Dusty Springfield來搭配，但最後還是被打了回票。Dusty Springfield是第一批「英倫入侵」的歌手，60年代中期即已走紅英、美，未接受或是有什麼其它的考量。而事後據Springfield的朋友Sue Cameron說，是因為Springfield當時病得很重。( 註：Dusty Springfield是眾所知曉的Lesbian，但她一直沒有正式出櫃，59歲逝於乳癌。)

之後再敲定由另位英國女歌手KiKi Dee來擔綱，錄製的過程為由當時人在多倫多的Elton John先錄好他的部份，再將帶子寄到倫敦，由KiKi Dee接續完成。製作人Gus Dudgeon回憶說，當時Elton John自己就唱了三段，只留了4句給KiKi Dee。Gus Dudgeon對Elton John說：『等一下！這到底是首雙人合唱還是來賓客串？』Elton John答：『是雙人合唱！』這才調整了倆人對等的歌唱份量。後來KiKi Dee也透露，Elton John除了唱他自己的部份，其餘則用高調尖聲來唱，讓她一聽即知該唱哪一部份，感覺很有趣。
此曲於1976推出後，獲得了英、美排行榜的雙料冠軍，也是Elton John在英國的第一首冠軍曲，卻也是KiKi Dee唯一的一首冠軍曲。
