老歌亂談(601)Blue To The Bone
Janis Oliver和Kristine Arnold ( 從夫姓 ) 這對相差二歲的姊妹花，從青少年時期起即以「Oliver Sister」的名稱，從事鄉村歌曲的演唱表演。1968，美國搖滾樂團The Byrds發行了一張專輯《Sweetheart of the Rodeo》( 牛仔競技場的情人？)，稍後，此對姊妹花也將團名更改為「Sweetheart of the Rodeo」。
再之後，由於被歌手Emmylou Harries的發現賞識，姊妹花因此有機會在演唱會擔任暖場和其他歌手的合音。1977，姊妹花為加州的一場秀做開場，因而認識了當時才19歲，亦為作秀團體成員之一的Vince Gill ( 註 )。1980，姊姊Janis嫁給了Vince Gill，而妹妹Kristine則是嫁給了Blue Steel樂團的Leonard Arnold。1983，Vince Gill搬到鄉村音樂之都 --- 田納西州的納許維爾，隨後Leonard Arnold也跟進，姊妹倆也才有機會再在一起唱歌。

此首《Blue To The Bone》為Sweetheart of the Rodeo於1988專輯《One Time, One Night》中所發行的第二首單曲，在告示牌鄉村單曲排行榜達到了第5名。由字面看「To The Bone」是「到了骨頭」，也就是「到了頂點」之意，而Blue To The Bone或可譯為「憂鬱至極」？歌曲的大意也是說因男人的背叛所導至。老外可能比較不信邪和避諱一些不吉利的言語，此曲對姊姊Janis之後的婚姻關係，應也算是「一曲成讖」吧！
1993，Vince Gill為了紀念因車禍受傷而在該年逝世的哥哥，第一次主持聖誕節的電視特別節目，為此邀請了有「The Queen of Christian Pop」之稱的Amy Grant，倆人也自此建立了情意。Vince Gill於1997與Janis Oliver離婚，Amy Grant也在1999與丈夫離異。2000，Vince Gill和Amy Grant共結連理。
