這是一首很有趣的「故事歌曲」，說的是一位單親媽媽收到女兒學校「親師聯誼會」（P.T.A. ─ Parent-Teacher Association）秘書寫來的一封信，說她平時穿的裙子太短，也常喝酒和男人打情罵俏，認為她不應該以這樣的生活方式來教導女兒。接下來就是這位媽媽當天下午去出席了「親師聯誼會」，當場揭穿那些教職員和家長假道學的偽君子面目。

這首歌於1968一推出後即造成轟動，一舉奪得了告示牌及鄉村單曲排行榜的雙料冠軍，Jeannie C. Riley也因演唱此曲獲得葛萊美最佳鄉村女歌手獎。七O年代，Jeannie C. Riley因信教改唱福音歌曲，但這首《Harper Valley PTA》仍是她最廣為周知及受歡迎的歌曲。

因這首歌具有諷刺及戲劇性的情節，在1978被改編為同名電影。以下所貼的歌曲影音，即為截取自影片的部份內容，邊聽邊看還真頗有臨場感，而且我覺得那個女兒演得滿有Fu的。
