這一兩週一直有將要開戰的消息,我已經停止注意任何此類的新聞了,據說連台灣也好幾次跟賓拉登扯上關係,大概又是荒謬的傳聞吧!
不過也讓我記起來一首Yeats寫的An Irish Airman Foresees This Death.

I KNOW that I shall meet my fate

Somewhere among the clouds above;

Those that I fight I do not hate,

Those that I guard I do not love;

My county is Kiltartan Cross,

My countrymen Kiltartan's poor,

No likely end could bring them loss

Or leave them happier than before.

Nor public men, nor cheering crowds,

A lonely impulse of delight

Drove to this tumult in the clouds;

The years to come seemed waste of breath,

A waste of breath the years behind

In balance with this life, this death.

接著又想到馮內果的五號屠宰場,去打仗的人都是孩子啊,通過那些Yeats所謂的莫名奇妙的A lonely impulse of delight 去打仗的人不是死了就是活著回來,而衝動一消失戰爭的憑藉在哪裡?

有個美國婦女的家人也在911裡頭失蹤了,她拿著牌子說:"We Don't Need Wars."戰爭並非通過一切結束一切的手段,每一次怒目以對只引來更強烈的憤恨而變成一道解不開的環。

正義與和平都是空泛的口號可以一喊再喊,人命不行,不管是中東回教徒的命,或是美國人的命。
