What is the trait integrity?

If you use a Western definition of integrity it first means high moral and ethical values - but that is only the premise.

The act of having integrity is the actual acting out of these moral and ethical values within your lifetime even when no-one is looking because a person with integrity doesn't follow moral and ethical guidelines to please others or out of fear of being caught if they didn't - but because they actually believe in them.

i.e. A man is out with his best friend of 30 years. A girl approaches him- she is the most beautiful women on the earth to him - and she asks to sleep with him. Naturally he wants to but he declines because he has a wife back home. His friend asks 'are you mad ..go for it!' I will not tell your wife - she will NEVER KNOW. Yet the man says, 'no, she is my wife and I agreed to honour her for better or for worse to the exclusion of all others - and I meant what i swore down the isle'. THAT is having integrity.

A crazy example I know as not too many men would actually refuse in this day and age .. but you get my point!
