木柵動物園昆蟲館開幕囉
Butterflies swarm through the new insectarium after Taipei Mayor Ma Ying-jeou released them from their cage. Quite a few decided to land on the mayor.
Taipei Mayor, Ma Ying-jeou: Ma referred to a traditional romantic story where two-ill fated lovers turn into butterflies in the end because of a villain, whose is also surnamed Ma. Ma said that every time he saw butterflies, he felt ashamed. Is it because I have some special smell he asked? He invited the butterflies come again anytime.
The mayor looked very pleased at the newly renovated insectarium. Taiwan has lots of bugs, and a wide sampling can be found here with everything from beetles, to fireflies, to Birdwing Butterflies.
Muzha Zoo, Chen Bao-jhong: A zoo worker explained that insects generally have short lifespans, so they can exhibit 70 odd species every day.
The kids are looking closely at the bugs.
The old insectarium was a glass-enclosed greenhouse that didn't work very well because the inside of the greenhouse got too hot, killing the butterflies. The new insectarium is a new type of greenhouse that is airy and cool inside. The zoo is calling it a five star hotel for insects.

仔細的逛著昆蟲館，馬市長相當滿意重新打造的昆蟲館。因為裡面有大鼓甲蟲、台灣的螢火蟲、還有黃裳鳳蝶、蘭嶼大螽斯等等寶貴的台灣昆蟲。

看見這麼多昆蟲，小朋友觀察的比誰都仔細。
從前的蝴蝶館，因為採取全罩式的玻璃溫室，讓蝴蝶不耐高溫死光光，這次改用半網室的新型溫室，除了透風，還可保持涼爽。園方說，昆蟲住在這裡，跟住五星級飯店一樣啦！
