是今年2003年Dido Armstrong的新歌
"White Flag"

Dido Armstrong1971年的聖誕節在倫敦出生
從六歲起就在倫敦的Guildhall School學音樂
當時主要學的是鋼琴和小提琴

1995年Dido加入了她早已經盛名選播的DJ哥哥Rollo Armstrong所組的樂團
Faithless
從那個時候她就相當受到注目
也就在那時候
她遇到了捧紅Toni Braxton、Whitney Houston這些人的Arista Record的老闆
Clive Davis
Clive Davis一聽到Dido的聲音
覺得驚為天人
於是幫助Dido在1997年錄製了她的第一張專輯
"No Angel"
並且在1999年正式發行

接下來
Dido就開始在世界各地發光
在WB TV(華納電視)的影集"Roswell"中
選用了她的"Here With Me"
在電影"Sliding Door"中選用了她的"Thank You"這首歌當作插曲
這也促成Eminem(阿姆)在他的單曲"Stan"中
用了同樣這首歌在曲中
雖然只有短短的六句
卻讓Dido的這張"No Angel"重新大賣
結果
賣的比第一次還要好(竟然賣了1200萬張，真誇張@_@)

Dido的曲風相當的多變
原因是
她實在是接觸過太多不同類型的音樂了
除了小時候受的古典音樂訓練外
哥哥擅長的電子音樂也影響到她
此外，她也受了Ella Fitzgerald、The Clash、Gregory Issac、Duran Duran的影響
所以
她的音樂會出現
Classic、Folk、Rock、Techno、Pop、Hip-Hop、Jazz等各式各樣的風格
想把她歸在哪一類
都是一件很奇怪的事

這首"White Flag"
收錄在2003年的新專輯"Life For Rent"中
曲風相當的後現代
使用樂器和編曲讓人分不清到底是Classic還是Rock，又用到了一些些Techno的編曲
真是相當能展現後現代特質的歌曲
搭配上Dido的聲音
就彷彿是後現代的畫唷
