從得獎當天晉身為天之驕子，到認識另一位天之驕女-Helen後，我才知道「人外有人、天外有天」的道理。
兩天前，與另一位Bournemouth的獎學金得主Helen前往飛達旅遊商談簽證事宜。辦理過程中，當她打開那厚厚的個人資料夾，我才知道我並不是得天獨厚的寵兒，因為Helen早已收到系上寄的相關課程資料、獎學金証明及宿舍相關資料，而我卻只有來自Multi-Media Journalism系上的簡單問候與祝福語，和她比起來，我的獎學金頓時好像少了點實際與真實感；不但如此，Helen的獎學金裡還多了語言課程的費用，就因為她讀的是商學院，而我讀的是媒體學院，這簡直一國兩制嘛！突然間，我從天之驕子變成了學校的棄嬰！
然而，上帝對我的哀求，在今天似乎卻有了回應。首先，郵差中午就送了兩封學校的資料，其中學校的『入學指南』我就同時收到了三封！真不知是太有效率，還是對我先前的補償；接著下午，馬上又收到英國文化中心發的獎學金証明；到了晚上則收到了學校的email，他們對我的不平之鳴有了回應，願意提供一半的語言課程費用喔！我想，這是個自己爭取權益的時代，只要有機會就該主動去爭取，或許不成功，但絕對是多了一個練習英文書信，以及與行政人員套交情的好機會喔！！

Dear Sherwin,
Amanda Williams forwarded your mail to her from 8 July 2002 with regards to the PSSP course.
The PSSP course does not onstitute part of the academic programme - as you know it as extra provision that the University provides to help international students prepare for studying at Bournemouth University, and has to be paid for separately to the tuition fees. As such it does not
constitute part of the scholarship that is offered by the University and the BTCO, Taiwan.
However, Bournemouth Media School have offered to pay half of your fees for the PSSP so Amanda will arrange for a refund of 395 to your credit card.
The reason why Helen does not have to pay for the PSSP is because the
Business School, which runs the PSSP Programme, currently underwrites the cost of PSSP fees for ALL full-time Business School students and Helen will be following a Master's programme in the Business School. This is not
related to the scholarship.
I hope this clarifies the situation. Please do not hesitate me should you
wish to discuss further.
