How Short Stories Can Be Like A Computer Game
(照片取材自www.freefoto.com)
這是O少拿到Merit的另一項English作業 PO文如下:
There are various ways for the short stories I read to be likened to a computer game. To start off, both can be stopped or paused anytime you want, unless, of course, you have become what people call “addicted” where they will read or play when they shouldn’t be and it is all that they can think of.
Next, they are alike because they can be visual in a way. While computer games automatically give us the images to see how the creators show the story that they want you to believe, short stories let you read the descriptive language so you can decipher and create images in your brain which is made with your own imagination. Also some stories try to think of something that wouldn’t happen in the real world to make it more interesting like fantasy and fairytales, or sometimes the exact opposite like a simple trip to the beach to relate to some audiences. But there are always hybrids. For example “Aroha’s Dream” is at the beach but very special things happen during that time.
Audiences and genres are also selected for games as well as short stories. From children to adults, they have to be fitted appropriately for each age level. For example, having a violent scene in a game rated G isn’t exactly a good idea.
Likewise, short stories are separated in this manner to suit the correct group. But they are divided into sections such fiction or non-fiction as well as age groups like adults or children.
Finally, one last similarity, they’ll both make you wear glasses if you read or play it too much!
