於台北時間2008/1/15 今天凌晨在 MWSF08 揭開了 MacBook Air 的面紗，這可說是全世界最薄的筆記型電腦。從最薄的位置 0.4 公分 (0.16 英吋) 到最厚的位置 1.9 公分 (0.76 英吋)，MacBook Air 在最薄的位置相較於其他筆記型電腦的厚度更小。

MacBook Air 具備閃亮的 13.3 吋 LED 背光寬螢幕顯示器、完整尺寸且背光照明的鍵盤、內建 iSight 視訊攝影機，以及含有多點觸控支援的大型觸碰式軌跡板。MacBook Air 配備 1.6 GHz 或 1.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo 處理器，4MB L2 快取，並具備標準的 2GB 記憶體、80GB 1.8 吋硬碟 (另可選用 64GB 固態硬碟)，以及最新的 802.11n Wi-Fi 技術與 Bluetooth 2.1。重量僅有 1.36 公斤 (3.0 磅)。

BTO 選項與配備包含可升級到 1.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo 處理器、64GB 固態硬碟、MacBook Air SuperDrive (US$99)、Apple USB Ethernet Adapter (US$29)、Apple USB 數據機、Apple MagSafe Airline Adapter、Apple Remote 遙控器，以及 AppleCare 全方位保固服務。
