My Experience of Learning English
Good afternoon, dear judges and dear fellow contestants. I am going to talk about “My Experience of Learning English”.
In the modern society, there are so many methods to learn English. You can learn English from magazines, English songs, TV programs, Internet, and so on. You have a lot of choices.
So far, I have studied English for five years. My first English class was in the first year of junior high school. During the first year, English was a nightmare for me. These were 26 letters, a lot of phrases, and a large of vocabulary that I need to remember. I was afraid of English then. But, I can’t but study it at that time.
Things always change with time. After all these years, I started to consider English interesting. I read more and more stories, jokes, and articles. I also read news from newspapers. These materials are fun in content, so they attract me, and I also find the fun of English form them. It is really awesome.
Two years ago, I started to use a software named “ICQ”. It enables me to chat with people in English on the net. By doing so, my English is getting better and better.
During the last winter vacation, I attended a day camp, named “Stay with Foreigners on Chinese New Year.” It was my first time to chat with foreigners in English. Well, it was an exciting experience.
When I know the news about the camp, I was excited. It was a good opportunity for me to practice English. But, I was a little bit afraid. I doubted my English ability. Was I able to communicate with people in English? A few days later, I made the decision that I wanted to participate in the activity. And I think I really made a great decision.
During those days, we went to the church, the Green Lake, and the flower market, Tamsui, and the National Palace Museum. In fact, I did not view these destinations as funny places before. But, with them in those days, I did have a good time. After this activity, I found English even more interesting.
Nowadays English is generally regarded as the most important language in the world. English to me is no longer a difficult subject. I like English, and I like to learn English. I hope everyone can find the enjoyment of learning English, like me. Thank for your listening.
