喜歡Bette Midler 是從電影 Beaches開始，

Beaches是描寫兩個女人從小到大的友情的電影，

我第一次發現，

友情，

也可以如此感人。

有點懷疑此片可有在香港上映，

然而，Bette Midler就是憑此片的”Wind Beneath my wings”拿下了當年的奧斯卡最佳主題曲獎，

那一年的頒獎禮我是錄影了，

好希望可以找回當天在背景中播放的MTV

重播又重播，一次又一次地被感動流淚，

因為片段，也因為歌詞，

還有Bette Midler的深情演繹：

至今已有不少歌手重唱過這首歌，

只是都沒有Bette Midler唱得那麼有感染力，

而如果你有看過這齣電影，

我想更會有同感。

然而，

影片給我最深刻印象的，

卻是另一首歌”The Glory of Love”，

那是此曲在片中第二次出現的場景，

第一次出現是在影片開始之時，

那時兩人只有幾歲大，在沙灘初遇，

Bette當時是唱一個節奏很明快的版本，

在爭取一個童星的機會。

第二次出現是在片末，

Bette在她的演唱會上獻給她一生的知己，

那一個是她一生的”Wind beneath my wings”的人：

Bette的演繹仍是那樣的動人，

歌詞的感人也許不及背後的故事，

卻深深地刻劃了愛之可貴。

此曲沒有Wind beneath my Wings的知名，

然而，卻是我十分之深愛的一首歌。

噢，談Bette Midler的歌，不可以不談”The Rose”，

這是一首有關...愛的堅持的歌，

有關愛生命的歌，

有關勇敢的歌，

噢，我已不止一次在blog中引用過了，

也不怕再多引一次罷...
