羊年台灣燈會主燈，3月4號將在台中烏日高鐵特定區登場。27號率先登場的，是濃濃台中在地味的豐原燈區，緊接著是228登場的台中公園燈區。主燈將在3/4元宵當天點亮。
燈區分散，但是三個地點都是在市中區，捷運系統尚未完備，交通挑戰大；除了原有公車路線，台中市交通局還規劃各燈區的接駁公車，也提醒民眾，不要開車進烏日主燈區，多多利用鐵公路等大眾運輸系統。

除了交通，台中市也趕在燈會前，花了兩千多萬在全市進行入口意象美化，台中市長林佳龍強調，雖然為了台灣燈會趕工，但這不是「一次性」的建設。
