I really do like Carrie Brashaw (fea.Sarah Jessica Parker) and the TV series sex and the city.
I don’t say it because everyone thinks so.(ok,not everyone, but a large number of people)
I do like the wisdom and elegance she shows in the show.
I just finished watching the rerun this evening and I was so amazed by how wisely she interacts with other people, even with the ones she is not happy with.
It was about her lost her costly shoe in her friend’s house. She wants the shoes back so she goes back to the friend and asks about if the shoes are found. However, the friend doesn’t really care and shames her.
She calls the friend the other day and still doesn’t get any good response.
Finally, she calls and leaves a message saying, ”I am getting married - to myself and I have reserved one pair of shoes for myself.”
I have never thought of this expression. It is just CLEVER! This way, her friend would know that she lives a happy life, although she doesn’t have a husband or kids. And, she will keep buying anything she wants(although it might be as expensive as US$485) as long as she feels happy.
