Montreal - Mount Royal Parc
座落於Montreal市中心的皇家山公園(Mount Royal Parc)，可說是我個人最喜歡的景點之一。從地鐵Peel站下車沿著Peel St往山的方向前進，不到10分鐘就可到達皇家山的山底。由於位置的關係，在皇家山的瞭望台(Chalet)，你不但可以看到Montreal最精華的地段，包括就在山腳下的名校-麥基爾大學(McGill University)和伊東購物中心(Eaton Centre)，還可以看到位於河邊的舊城區。更棒的是，這一切都是不用花錢的。
因為這是個開放式的公園，你可以看到許多人在慢跑、溜狗、騎腳踏車和野餐。除此之外，沿路上都可以看到可愛的松鼠(一點都不怕生)，如果你手邊有花生米之類的東西，牠們也會跑到你面前吃呢！(我個人最棒的紀錄是有松鼠在我的手上吃東西，可惜我朋友手腳太慢，沒有拍到。)如果你運氣好？！的話，你還可以遇到騎著馬巡邏的警察呢！雖然爬上山很累(沒有走捷徑的話大概要花一個多鐘頭)，但是當作是運動也不賴哩！若是你不怕迷路的話，可以走捷徑上山，大概半個鐘頭就可以到達山頂了。下次大家到Montreal，不妨到皇家山公園走走。
Located in the downtown area of Montreal, the Mount Royal Prac is one of the most favorite spots I like in Montreal. Getting off from the metro station "Peel", walking along the Peel St., you can arrive the bottom of Mount Royal within about 10 mintues. Due to its location, you will be able to see the most popular areas in Montreal from the Chalet, including the McGill University and Eaton Centre and the Old Montreal. And, you don't need to pay anything!!!
This park is opened to the public, you can see many people jogging, walking dogs, riding bikes and picnicking. Besides, you can see many cute squirrels along the way to the Chalet. If you have some food with you, they will come and eat just in front of you. (I have tried to feed squirrels many times in Canada. The closet distance I have is having them eating from my hand. But I don't have pictures of that moment!) If you're "lucky", you will meet the policemen patrolling in the park with their horses.Although it took about 1.5 hours to the Chalet (if you don't take shortcuts) and it's tired, but you will find it worthwhile when you see the view. Also, you can get some exercises. If you're very good at directions and not afraid of getting lost, you can try the shortcuts and get to the Chalet within about half hour. Next time when you're in Montreal, the Mount Royal Parc is the place that you shouldn't miss.
