媽媽勸告小男孩不要再去森林找Sounder了，因為牠可能已經回家了！媽媽要小男孩學習失去，上帝教大人們學會失去，但因為青少年還不知道如何學會失去的意義。有人註定不用經歷失去的痛苦；但有些人卻註定無法擁有，而我們卻屬於後者。但Sounder或許會回家的。

自己翻的好爛啊！不過雖然小男孩的媽媽沒上學，也無法提供良好的教育環境，但她還是把自己從生活中獲取的經驗，傳承給小男孩。雖然她知道一下子要小男孩成長，是很殘忍的，但因為家境不好，卻不得不這樣做，但她還是會適時的鼓勵小男孩，讓他不要對這麼快就面對人性的黑暗面，在他需要母愛時，陪在一旁加油打氣。
