Jamie finally conquered her stage fright and participated in the very first story telling contest in her life last Friday.

The night before the competition, Jamie made a HUGE fuss about not going to the contest, crying and shouting. When I nearly lost my patience, her daddy asked her if she wanted to draw. So they sat side by side and Jamie drew this picture.

She visiualized herself and Alex doing the story telling on the stage with two spotlights above and the audience watching them. After drawing the picture, Jamie went to bed peacefully.(Thank Lord!)

The next morning, Jamie woke up as usual and went to school cheerfully. She told me not to show up in the contest, for she might get too anxious. Therefore, I asked a teacher to videotape her part of story telling for me. The homeroom teacher, Miss Lin, dressed them up as two sheep. And then, it was SHOW TIME!

After that, the story began......

According to the teacher, the story telling went quite well and smoothly. They even did a better job than before.

This is a very FUNNY picture! Jamie's costume almost fell off.

Compared with Jamie's performance, mine was a disaster. My very first story telling contest took place in  second grade. I memorized the whole story word by word and was well-prepared. However, as I got on the stage, my mind just went BLANK! After I did the greeting, I was totally speechless. The time dragged. At last, the bell rang. I walked off the stage, wishing to be invisible. When I shared my story with Jamie, she was laughing out loud and feeling proud of what she had achieved.
