馬英九總統20日晚間在國宴上致詞表示，史瓦濟蘭於1968年9月6日獨立建國，中華民國當天就與史國建立外交關係，雙邊邦誼已維繫47年。
總統指出，兩國關係47年來十分友好，可以說就像兄弟一般歷久彌新，總統說：『(原音)史瓦濟蘭是中華民國最重要的盟邦之一，對我國友誼堅定不移，不論是我們希望參加世界衛生大會、聯合國氣候變化綱要公約的活動、國際民航組織，史瓦濟蘭的外交官在這些國際場合一向是幫我們仗義執言，讓我們感念在心。』
總統盛讚恩史瓦帝三世雄才大略，像兩國合作興建的國際機場航廈已在去年完工啟用，皇家生物科技園區基礎工程也即將於7月完成，不僅如此，史王還希望建立一個國際會議中心，讓非洲同盟能在史國開會，由此可見史王對於國家的發展，有一套非常完整的規劃。
