Taiwanese cuisine

 Strike is trying to corner a niche market by throwing

Taiwanese food into the mix.

 This small resto-cafe will offer ba-wan, popiah,

and bubble tea to entice locals

and comfort all of those Taiwanese students up at

UBC with some recognizable night market fare

. Strike specializes in fried chicken, which is popular

 in Taiwan as street food

. Come to think of it, almost every culture has a snack/street

food based around fried chicken!

Let's hope Strike's fried chicken

 is popular enough to pay for that Kitsilano lease.

Their tea was also wonderfully aromatic and almost reminded

me of something I would really want in bubble tea.

I have to admit, I was pretty excited to try this place despite the

 plethora of similar cafes to choose from in Vancouver.

Prices are a dollar or two higher than usual Taiwanese / HK

 cafes but maybe it's the premium placed on restaurants in Kits.

 There's something about sizzling hot plates of food that

makes everything taste better.

 Where can I buy one?

If I had to choose between iCafe and Strike,

I think Strike definitely takes the cake in terms of food quality.

 With some fine tuning and tweaks, it's a promising spot

 for Taiwanese food in Kits.

 My overall impression of the Strike is positive.

 The menu offers good quality food at a high variety.

 I will be back.ha!
