Tojo's Japanese Restaurant

 Tojo's Japanese Restaurant

Tojo demonstrated why his restaurant is still so

 popular after all these years.

We saw other people ordering a la carte but, honestly,

you will miss the best of Tojo's creativity

if you don't go with the Omakase (chef's choice) menu.

It's definitely not cheap - it starts at $80

per person and goes up from there.

But every bite of every dish was superb.

And many dishes were totally surprising

combinations of flavours and textures.

what a beautiful sashimi dish!

Tojo the owner  is on the right.

If you're looking for a "sushi bar" - go somewhere else.

Not that Tojo's sushi is bad - it's not, in fact it's excellent.

But if you only eat the sushi,

you'll miss what makes this place so special.

the fish is so fresh and beautifully prepared that (for me) it's worth the price.

If you go, you have to try Tojo's special tuna sashimi.

And if you really want to splurge,

sit at the bar and have the tasting menu.

Service was incredibly friendly and helpful.

Wine and Sake list is extensive.

Can't recommend Tojo's highly enough.
