Fairmont Pacific Rim-lobby lounge

Very fresh seafood ~

Black tea for today.

Fairmont, how I love your lounge with its comfy leather couches, the invigorating 'Fairmont' scent,

 and your always exceptional service.

A floor to ceiling fireplace, white marble floors and walls, fancy artsy chandeliers

, this is the a relaxing place to hang out. Windows line the lounge, letting in lots of natural light.

Got a geisha cocktail, made of absolut vodka, chambord, elderflower syrup, fresh strawberries.

This was sooo good. For all of its $13, I made every sip count.

Live jazz every night, brings this lounge to an whole other level.

A Fazioli piano with intricate cut outs ($225,000!)plays soothing tunes;

 it accompanies my sweet cocktail, the perfect combination.

Aesthetically the lobby lounge is beautiful. Open & airy, it's a gorgeous setting to grab a drink or get together with the girls. I booked afternoon tea for 9 of us, a holiday get-together. The afternoon tea sadly disappointed. Our service was rather slow and sporadic. Our water wasn't refilled for a good half hour and when it was, the water was lukewarm. They served the tea sandwiches at first, after another 45 minutes, we had to ask for our sweet treats, by then, our tea was cold and nobody wanted to eat the sweets. Maybe they're working out some kinks. Would've expected much better service. We also got asked several times, if we had a coupon (I think they had a deal on Living Social). The valet service is excellent though. I don't think I would return here for high tea, but would give cocktails a shot.

There are tables with comfy chairs in the open space of the Fairmont foyer, an open kitchen in the back, a bakery (Giovane) on the other side, and a beautiful view looking at the extraordinary Vancouver Convention Centre. I walked into this space listening to the wonderful voice of a soulful singer on the grand piano and trying to absorb the beautiful and unique interior of the hotel.

Maggie and I~

seafood set $36 per person.

afternoon tea .$35 per person

This is so close to a 5star but the service was very on and off that I cannot give it 5 stars yet. I don't doubt that my next experience will be pretty close to perfect.
