We Dreamed a Dream
It was an evening chat that I found we had some characters in common. B.Y. is a MBA who has worked for more than 2 years for the company since his first beginning of career. He is married and has a child. He has good relationships with almost everyone in the company. To my surprise, today he confessed “104” is his refuge of unpleasant affairs in job recently, deriving from sarcasm and cruelty of his superior.
We dreamed the same dream to pursue an outstanding industry, regardless of our administration or financial background. But one has to surrender to the “technology”, which is exactly what it called as tech-industry. Consequently, what we learned in school for years seemed to be nonsense when it comes to knowledge contribution. Does it suggest that we are in the wrong place? As a conclusion of my own feeling, MOT (management of technology) should be termed as “management of trifles” in this aspect. What did we struggle that much for? I start to feel guilty that I used to tease a classmate working as a HR because I’m no better than him.
What we can only rely is language. Unfortunately, English ability is deteriorating day by day because of an environment full of Taiwanese-English. Furthermore, communications always start with “Dear” and end by “Best Regards.” Thus, even though English writing is necessary for mails, we still stuck in a blind alley. You will never find any inspiring rhetoric or profound metaphor to enjoy oneself.
Now we dream the same dream at nights…of our daily tasks…
