Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is getting a free weekend

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is getting a free weekend from April 24-27, according to the official Call of Duty Twitter account. Starting Friday, players can download the game and play multiplayer online for free until the trial is up. However, free players will only have access to five of the game’s multiplayer maps.

Call of Duty: Warzone players can access the free multiplayer in the already free-to-play Warzone client. Aside from the map restrictions, players will be able to engage in all of Modern Warfare’s customization and leveling.

During the weekend, going into the Warzone client will give players an option to select the free-access playlist with maps like Hovec Sawmill, Talsik Backlot, Aniyah Incursion, Hideout, and Shoot House.

To get you prepared for the free multiplayer period, Infinity Ward gave a rundown of the limited maps and modes available in the trial.The playlist will include 6v6 and 10v10 games for players to get a feel for both small-scale engagements and larger firefights to really get the feel of Call of Duty’s intense gameplay.
