My name is Ka-Man Tse and I am a New York based artist and educator working on a photography project here in Hong Kong. I am a lesbian artist, born in HK. I am working on a photography project making portraits and narratives here in the LGBTQ / Tongzhi community in HK. I am involved in the Asian-American LGBTQ community in the U.S. as well as the Asian Pride Project. I have been photographing in the LGBTQ Asian-American community for the past six years.

My project is to make photographic portraits and narratives here in the community in HK.

I am looking for willing participants – I would be so grateful! I am looking to make portraits of individuals, couples, and groups. I will be in HK until July 20th.

I would be happy to meet with people first, and share with them my prints, and get to know people first through a meal or coffee. I am happy to travel to their neighborhood, and I will make prints of the photo shoot for you. I can photograph in both public spaces as well as in people’s homes.

I understand the complexities of the culture in HK, and can work with each person to respect their wishes of how they want to be photographed and their privacy.
