老美口頭禪
The thing is, we need to talk.
重點是, 我們必須談談.
在老美的口語中, thing 就是代表"重點"的意思, 相當於 key point. 所以老美常把, "The thing is: blah,blah, blah." 掛在嘴邊, 或是有人會說, "Here is the thing." (重點來了.) 例如, "I really like that new house, but the thing is, how much is it?" (我很喜歡那棟新房子, 但重點是, 要多少錢啊?)
