Dumpling Dinner
Last Saturday, we had a class activity --- making dumplings.
I was so excited when I heard of that, therefore, I decided to participate.
However, I did not really know how to make it, so …
I played with wheat flour and meat like clay making.
After making two dumplings, I lost my patience.
I started handing around, chatted with my classmates,
Grading the dumplings by their appearance.
They told me that, all Chinese know how to make dumplings,
And it symbolized gathering.
I was so surprise that I never seen dumplings before Primary 3 or 4,
And was told by mummy that:
Only those Chinese lived in North part of China eat dumplings,
We Southerner eat rice.
SHE LIED TO ME!!!
Also, I feel hard to identify myself here.
For sure I am Macanese, but they set me as foreign student,
And sometimes says Macao had already hand over. Foreign or domestic?
If I am Chinese, how come most of the people said I looked / spoke like Indonesian, Thai or Philippines?
Gosh! My nationality is Portuguese.
I speak Canto Mandarin and Philippine English?
How international I am!
Anyway, I will try my best to find a group, which suits myself, and join it.
My dearest friend, when can we gather and eat dumplings?
I am urge to come to that day!
