１９８９年春天　當時的西洋歌壇女王瑪丹娜(Madonna)推出〔Like A Prayer／宛若禱者〕

同名歌曲是先發主打

這是首融合了Pop, Rock, Funk, 福音的歌曲

在戲劇化的編曲與豐厚唱詩班烘托下 瑪丹娜娓娓道出宗教與神對她的影響

此曲也引起了喧然大波 不過是它的音樂錄影帶

瑪丹娜在片中飾演一場兇殺岸的目擊者 後來逃入教堂避難

MV中她在數個巨大的火燒十字架前熱舞 親吻黑人聖徒

造成當時歐美宗教團體的大加撻伐

當時瑪丹娜為百事可樂所拍的廣告由於與歌曲內容近似

為避免爭議 也迅速下檔 不過這卻成為單曲的無形宣傳

〔Like A Prayer／宛若禱者〕登上包括英美登數十國的排行榜冠軍

成為當年世界最轟動 也最暢銷的歌曲 連帶也讓專輯熱賣一千多萬張

記得當時台灣新聞局好像有徵詢過天主教/基督教團體

後者無異議 所以順利在本地播出

我猜這跟台灣不像歐美是基督教盛行的地區有關吧

〔Like A Prayer／宛若禱者〕也是自己首次注意的英語熱門歌曲

它對我影響蠻大的 因為後來便跟歐美流行樂結緣 聽了十幾載

直到近年才轉回國語歌曲(不過多是８０／９０年代的歌曲)

Anyway, 〔Like A Prayer／宛若禱者〕是首相當易於牽動聽者思緒的感人旋律

MV也相當精彩(這可能是我最喜歡的英文歌曲與音樂錄影帶)
