color手記No.3-----Color March

Dear friends,

This month I have not been in Hong Kong, as I have begun producing my new album! Wow, it's so much work! Every year, this is the period that I look forward to, but I always seem to forget the pain and frustration involved in the process. So far, composing is going well...but, it can be hard, very, very hard to keep coming up with good ideas and staying inspired. I have watched over fifteen movies this month, just to keep my creative juices flowing.
Other than working on the album, I have also begun planning for this year's concerts. What songs shall I sing, and what players do I want in my band? What kind of impression do I want to leave on my audiences: fun and evergetic, or artistic and musically impressive, or simple and touching? How can I combine these elements into the overall structure of a show to make it something that people will appreciate and remember forever?
To me, working on my new album and concert is challenging and creatively exciting. Other than performing, this is what I enjoy most about being a musician...it is the work behind the curtain, in which I am now immersed.

All the best, Leehom
