music be an experience ba
friend說:
sometime music is too relegated to being like "imaginary seperation of sound", but it shoudl be an experience in a whole and mean something.
friend說:
sounds accomplish nothing , thats why there is music
I說:
it's sorta like Mahler words concerning the completeness of muzik
…….
…….
friend說:
music that can move people ..
I說:
agree loh
I說:
a theater practitioner named Peter Brook has done the experiment about the sound. And it demonstrate that one can feel others by sounds
I說:
I luv that story a lot
friend說:
yup... even unintended sounds.. since nature provokes emotion, sounds do which ever way they're produced
I說:
it's the origin of life bah ( cos Peter Brook wanted to discover the items that were overwhelmed by civilization)
friend說:
yup.. that makes sense..
friend說:
sounds r like the first thing one can produce.. and what's more touching than elements from nature..
I說:
oh ya, maybe ppl at times forgot essence(ability) of life
friend說:
yeah... its just whatever it takes to feel alive.. it's easier to take something that makes up life and turn it into something lame..
friend說:
so i emphasize the imprtance of performance.. where the energy of the music can be transcribed and transferred to the audience in the most direct way
I說:
amazing, ur words r like what Antonin Artaud (theater practitioner as well) has announced " cruel theater" . it's long story to explain lah, but it's really alike
friend說:
hah.. really? lemme look that up
…..
…..
friend說:
i kinda get it now
friend說:
physical
I說:
u got the point
friend說:
yup, that is what im trying to emphasize more and more in what i wanna do..
I說:
i like this theory
friend說:
in a sense, its not that cruel because using physical is just using the forces of nature to represent human abstract ideas.. and nature is beautirful and moving no matter how destructive
I說:
actually the differences of ppl's thoughts are from the time they live and the influences of civil activities
friend說:
yeah, but ultimately they express it in similar ways according to technology
I說:
maybe it's the trend we get used to live with but I'm glad that ppl can still "feel"
friend說:
yup, that will not change
friend說:
as long as people still appreicate the forces of nature
…..
….
I說:
I luv the first pieace (cos I havn't got the 2nd one) and it's a bit like alexisonfire
I說:
2 things parrelling
friend說:
yeah, we used bass as main melody alot and guitar as background
I說:
got it
I說:
so u want get layers in ur muzik?! cos one is backgroud and the other one is melody
friend說:
yup, wanted to get layering, but in different contexts, maybe 3 things competing at different times
…..
