WINTER OUTLOOK:
Regarding this winter, we have a developing El Nino sea surface temperature pattern in the Pacific. The latest (Oct 05th) is that we expect a moderate El Nino SST pattern this winter. We expect the following this winter; We have a good shot at more precipitation than average across SoCal, and the resorts. Many times in an El Nino pattern, we are also dealing with snow levels being a bit high on average as the moisture source is usually subtropical. Either way, El Nino years usually prove to be good for those who like natural snow, and mainly after Christmas. We will watch and see how this develops.
