十幾年前英文課上到 birth order and personality 的時候叫學生寫札記。有個學生寫道：

I am the neglected Number Two of the family.  I have to wear all of my big brother’s old clothes, because they STILL LOOK NEW to my parents.  When my little brother grows bigger, of course he can have all new clothes, because by the time MY CLOTHES are already too old to wear.

I have to work a lot too.  Each time when my parents want some help, they will either say, “Come here, the big two!”  or, “Come here, the little two!”  I can never escape from the chores.

哈哈哈！！！我笑到唸給全班聽，引來更多的悲情老二故事。

「老大是父母的革命同志，老么是集寵愛於一身的寶貝。我們 too little to be big and too big to be little, 連客人都看不到我的存在，好像隱形人。」

然後老大就又要說一次 "I envy you!"

老么也發難：「你知道永遠不能長大是多麼可悲的事嗎？」
