寫「水仙花和暗戀他的回音小水仙」故事的人實在很多，不過這則「遊戲」之作卻是最讓 Yvette 驚異又感傷的。寫回音的故事就要用回音的格式。這是希臘時期常用的格式：回音，重複前半行的最後一個音。本詩得分三次唸：全--左半--右半。這是水仙花和他的回音在對話：Narcissus 只顧著看著自己的容顏並且將Echo的仰慕視為自我加分的籌碼。辛苦的回音只能捕捉幾個音節訴說自己的悲哀：「渴望化為灰燼--無法存在的痛！」


看太多暗戀的真實故事和眼神，不免猜想：「暗戀會不會是文明發展最主要的動力？」

其實英國桂冠詩人 Ted Hughes 改寫自歐維德《變形記》的 ”Echo and
Narcissus” 也寫得極好。而且主角換成了 Echo。等我有空再打出來。

有時不免會這麼想：他那開瓦斯自殺的詩人妻子 Sylvia Plath (可參見電影《瓶中美人》) 以及同樣開瓦斯自殺順便用安眠藥將孩子餵死的情人也都是他的
Echo 吧。
