Three Seasons (Revised)
I. Cruel Summer: Nothing Everlasting
“April is the cruellest month”—T. S. Eliot, The Waste Land
All things must pass
Don’t see too far
I have to get used to it
Instead of asking too much
All things must change
Don’t dream too much
Live like what you are now
Treasure what you love
I’m in the middle of nowhere
Suffered from memories
Where I exchange part of me
For going back to reality
Another Sunday comes quietly
But I’m unlike before
Trying to find eternity
In the road of passing hope
II. Fall of Autumn—Down To the Memory
"How does it feel?
How does it feel?
Feels like no direction home
like a rolling stone”—Bob Dylan, Like a Rolling Stone
I start to fall
Down to the memory
In the city of dream
We built together
On the middle of road
There’s an illusion
That you hold me on the back
I start to cry
Down to the memory
In the city of dream
By your dorm
I see the vision
That we talk and laugh together
Still clear like picture yesterday
I wake up in the middle of my room
Recalling all the memories
Whispery, tell myself
“Love doesn’t disappear
It has become a part of me”
Every beauty of dream
Down to the memory
Belongs to me
III. Hope for Spring—Farewell Not Goodbye
"I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence"—Robert Frost, The Road Not Taken
You and I separate
To go individually in love
But I know we will never lose each other
In the journey called life
It’s alright
Don’t worry about me
I know it’s a new beginning for us
To make our world larger
There’s too much that we haven’t seen before
We should hold hands walking together, without carrying any baggage
It’s alright
Don’t feel sorry to me
All the roads we passed through
Would be the pleasure in my heart
We know each other so deep
Now we could know other deeper, in the name of friends
If you find your man
I would make a wish for you
Even if it’s not me
We have so much to learn, so much to learn
In the journey called life
If you feel sad or depressed
Let me know
Though we aren’t lovers anymore
I would still be there to comfort you
Finished at someday in April, 2004
