My love for the game

19/1/2006 HKT 11:15 @ work

Hey what’s happening? (sounds so Marcus! lol) I know a lot of my friends particularly ladies don’t really wanna read this passage, it’s boring for them because the whole thing talks about basketball. Sorry about that but i dunno y i feel my passion and love for the game is even higher than before.

I have made this kinda analysis for 3 years. Last year’s predictions were about 70% matched to the final outcomes of all awards, which i was pretty satisfied with. Alright then i am gonna start typing up now and hope y’all like it and gimme some opinions on message board. Remember to drop me a line!!

My favorites this year:
C-Camby, Mourning, Pau Gasol.
PF-C. Villanueva (Raptors), C-Webb, Brand.
SF-Melo, Marion, LBJ.
SG-Kobe, AI, Joe Johnson.
PG-Wade, Nash, C.Paul (Hornets).

Predictions:

Final 4: Spurs VS Suns, Heat VS Pistons
Finals: Spurs VS Pistons

1st Team: Brand, Dirk, Nash, Marion, Kobe
2nd Team: J.O, T.D, Wade, LBJ, AI
3rd Team: Camby, Tony Parker, Arenas, KG, Melo (T-Mac?)
Noteworthy:
Bosh - A Taiwanese columnist says " the Left-handed KG is forced to grow rapidly, to be young leader and he has handled it really well." I totally agree and he deserves some more attention.
Hinrich - I reckon he is the " Next John Stockton", coincedently he is white and wearing #12 too.
Gasol - He should have made his first All-Star appearance 2 years ago. Fairly high possibility to make it this year but his beard might affect the polls.
Dwight Howard - Another 20-10 potential needs to show more leadership, might be able to do it after Franchise is gone.

Defensive Player: AK47 (if he is healthy until the end of season)
Defensive 1st Team: AK47, Big Ben, Camby, Bruce Bowen, Billups
Defensive 2nd Team: Larry Hughes, Tayshuan Prince, Matrix, Wade, TD, KG

Rookie of the Year: Chris Paul
Rookies 1st Team: C. Paul, C. Villanueva, C. Frye (Knicks), Jasikevicius (Pacers), Deron Williams (Jazz)
Rookies 2nd Team: Bogut, Luther head (Rockets), David Lee (Knicks), Nate Robinson (Knicks), Ike Diogu (Warriors), Jose Calderon (Raptors)
* This year’s rookies are just full of surprises. Watch out for these 3 rookies as well: Salim Stoudamire (Hawks), Francisco Garcia (Kings), Ronny Turiaf (Lakers) <- The product of Gonzaga will have solid contributions if he adjusts well in Lakers’ system.
* Anyone knows Hakim Warrick? I hope he can get some court time.

Season MVP: Nash, Billups?
Coach: Flip Saunders (Pistons), D. Antonie (Suns), Pat Riley for kicking out Stan Van Gundy!

Sixth Man (I suggest that NBA should have 6th Man Team): M. Finley, Boris Diaw (Suns), C. Butler (not sure if he will still be eligible by then because he has been starting for 5 games and averaging 20 plus!)

MIP: David West (Hornets), Boris Diaw, Mike James (Raptors)

Disappointment Team: Q-Rich, Kandi, Marvin Williams, Jalen Rose

Veterans Team: Stackhouse, Finley, GP, Sam I Am, Breven Knight, David Wesley, Juwan Howard

Life-long Award: Kevin Willis, Zo

Specially mention:
Okafor in 2nd year slump?
Props to Pistons for sharing the ball so well.
Bad luck Amare and Penny.
KG complains?
K-Mart is getting better.
How good is Melo this year man!
TD struggles?
Shaq averages career-low minutes - approximately 29 mins.
Props to J-Will for his adjustment.
I like the line-up of Golden State Warriors.
Will Jonathan Bender’s career end up like Michael Dickerson’s?
Is VC back like how he played in ’98-’99?
Where’s Carlos Boozer?
What else can Damon Jones do besides popping up 3’s? Ans: Advertising for Li-Ning Brand.
Is C-Webb smiling now when he looks @ Kings’ winning percentage?
Can anyone toss up a alley-oop pass to JKidd?
Damn Larry Brown and Isaiah Thomas.
