US Kids Golf World Championship

Back in May, Brian played in US Kids World Championship qualifier and shut one under par. This low score got him invited to the annual World Championship held in Pinehurst, North Carolina. The golf course is the one for 1999 US Open.

Payne Stewart won the 1999 US Open after sinking in a 15-foot put. This is his winning pose.

Brian was trying to have a little chat with these statues.

Contestants from more than 30 countries joined this event. We can't find Taiwan's flag so we settled with China's flag.

US Army has a tent. These guys came to the opening ceremony in style... they parachuted down from the sky!!!

Score board of the Championship. Brian didn't play very well. This is the world championship after all. Lots of serious players (and parents) joined this event and most of them have been in this tournament and others before.

There was a putting contest for smaller kids.

Brian played in the number 8 course in Pinehurst. After we finished our round, we went to the 1st tee to watch the leader group. I was taking a break sitting in a chair next to the tee box of the 1st hole.

The 18th hole of Pinehurst number 8.

11 year-old boy plays in Legacy golf course. One of the kids we know (Eddy Lai) was in the leader group of the final round. We went down to that course and watch him play.

This is the closing ceremony. In 9 year-old girl group, the winner (left) is from Mexico. The girl who finished 5th (Grace Chen) is also from San Jose, whose parents are from Taiwan too.
