In Chinese culture, the relationship between parents and sons (daughters) is a very interdependent. Especially the Chinese treat this relationship as the most important thing. It is totally different with Westerns. For example, Americans think that every person is independent and when you mature you can live alone by yourself.
I think this relationship is very good traditions. Parents devote their all life to achieve the life of their next generation and don’t want to request feedback. I think it is very important to human management. If you want to deal with the Chinese, maybe you can try to deal with their parents first.
