Today, I’m going to talk about “ Is Facebook harmful to children?” I believe that facebook is useful to younger generation. Let me tell you the reasons in the following.
First, facebook games are interesting. That’s why facebook is so popular not only for us college students but also for the children. For example, it is because we can write blog on it and share photos with others. In addition, chatting with others is one of functions. Hence, people make a number of friend by using it. Actually, the most fun-loving thing is the facebook games. There are tens of thousands of recreation games on facebook. For instance, “Pet Society”, players can choose a pet and take care of its life, including designing the pets’ house, planting flowers and arranging furniture. The most famous game has to be “Happy Farm.” This game makes people experiencing farmer’s life. For children, they both are very interesting and fascinating.
Second, facebook can relief school pressure to children. Nowadays, children not only have lots of homework, but also many children go to after school programs. So, playing on-line game becomes one of recreations to them. For children, facebook is necessary to help them release their stress.
Third, facebook also help children create their imagined world and develop their brain. For example, there is a game called ‘number game.’ It can train children’s brain to develop their math ability. The game with vivid graphics also can inspire children’s imagination. It can bring children more colorful life.

It can boost children’s language ability. So facebook is a good environment to help children learn language in advance. Because of these fun games, children are addicted to them. On the contrary, facebook also results in some negtive effect. First of all, children spend much time surfing the Net in order to play on-line games. So they are easier become near-sight. Next, they can’t identify right and wrong thing because Net is a not a real world. Finally, they can’t chat with others face to face, therefore, they lack of social skills in real life.
All in all, I believe facebook is not harmful to children. First, facebook games are interesting. Then, facebook can relief school pressure to children.
