US Trip 2006 : An update

An Update:

Most of you know that I have been to the United States from 29 June to 19 July for two difference Christian conferences and visiting friends. Arrived Hong Kong last night and after a good night sleep (finally!), I came back to office to work this morning. While I am still reading those 100+ emails during my leave of absent, I really would like to write you this before I keep on those works.

As a Christian, we participated different kinds of gatherings and workshops every year. However my trip this time was truly amazing. I would put it as one of my biggest spiritual transformations. There are more than 30 pages of journal written throughout the trip and I probably would tidy up them into different pieces of writings soon. Before I complete this magnificent task, I would like share very briefly about the big things I experienced in this transformation trip:

1. Importance of Prayers – Not only pray for yourself but your cell group members, significant persons in the workplace/government and also the our Pastor! We need to pray hard for the Pastors and the missionary who made Lord’s work possible on earth!

2. Abandon yourself – To be fully used by Lord, we have to abandon ourselves and make it as a vessel for the gospel. I saw lots of great speakers in this trip – their messages were powerful not because how knowledgeable they are (of course they do!) but the extent that they are willing to submit themselves to Lord so that be filled up in delivering effect-reaching messages.

3. Leave the comfort zone – To be very honest with you, the whole trip has pushed me to the limit in the sense of physical comfort. I was put under lots of situations that control are so out of places. I lost sleep, diets and also some basic communication skills throughout the whole trip. However, like a young brother prayed for me a few hours before my departure – “Lord is going to empty yourself so that you could be re-filled with his glory and blessings.” You bet, it’s very painful to be broken down into pieces but I am glad that I survive through it. Lord is faithful, he always is.

4. Campus Transformation – How my heart has been burdened with this movement and be very honored to be involved in this. I cried so many times simply to see the broken hearts in my campus (Lingnan University) to be healed and those sins be left our school and dormitories. I prayed Lord this morning to press this and seal this to my heart so that I can commit my life for the lives of the College students!

Thank you so much for your thoughts or prayers throughout these days. I would love to share with you more later either in written form (blog) or in person.

May Lord blesses you and transform your life too.
