Jager Chen
Jager Chen, Male, born in Kaohsiung on Sep.03, 1972, had short-term job training after senior high school. In 1995, came back to study in Cho-Yang University of Technology (CYUT). From 1991 to 1995, two years service in army, other two years worked in the field of engineering. Now I am working in Grundfos Pumps (Taiwan) Ltd.
My families are parents; they settle in Chishan Kaohsiung and two older sisters who married, I had an apartment in Taichung. My father retired from junior high school and my mother is a housewife.
When I graduated from senior high school, I joined short-term (six months) job training as the water pipe technician and electrician, after that I working hard and try to get the licenses before into the army. Fortunately, I got two licenses as water pipe technician and electrician at that time. I had leading and managed experience in army (MP). After that I went back to work in the same company, supervised project’s quality and controlled the achieved progress and expense. Besides working, I tried to prepare college exam at night during that year. Yes, I used very short time to enter the CYUT.
Four years of CYUT is another new life beginning to me. I used activities to explore myself at first two years and study hard in the last two years (G.P.A. was 3.22). Though I have IE&M background, but I had spent more time to study market and business management, these senses give me more idea now. Because I believe we can get grow of activities, so I spend much time in activities to explore myself. I elected the President of student council when I was a freshman, but I failed. This failure experience let me learn how to face failure and restart; of course I tried again and elected the President next year. Student council isn’t a constraint organization; it needs good encouragement, negotiation and management.
After graduated, I have contacted the job with human resource and in charge of the stuff checking, salary, logistic, and sales affairs.
I am now a south region senior sales engineer at the Grundfos pumps (Taiwan) company and my responsibilities are to explore the domestic market, customer communication and exploration, offer quotation, order taking, new products launch, customer product training and so on. My personal annual (2001) sales volume is about NTD 10 million. A few of managers jumped to the competitors and would like to share our market by strategy with decreasing the price at least 20%. However, we only lost a few customers because of we active in any solubility. It proved that price didn’t mean everything. Besides, our company is also the champion for the outstanding accomplishment of new product exploration in Asia area. After my effort on payment term negotiation with my customers, I have obviously achievement that is to cut down the payment days by about 70% from my customers and all still with good cooperated relation. My personal merit evaluation in years 2000 and 2001 are 80 degrees above the average and gained the long-term training qualification by Grundfos Academy. It shows the company recognized the worth of my ability.
It is not so easy and a little rough for my growth. To enrich myself is the most proud of me. I always think about what I would like to do, what I should do and what I could do! I have my own dream, goal and ambitions, “To value nowadays and create future” is my principle to fact the unsure and uncontrolled future.
