Both virtuous and nonvirtuous actions are formed in the mind.

Actions—though more apparent – are secondary to our motivation.

Even an apparently virtuous act ion is of little benefit if the root of 

our motivation is selfishness. 

Any act ion performed with wisdom and selfless motivation is an 

expr ession of our own Buddha nature.

善行或不善行皆由心所造。 行動儘管看來較為明顯，

卻是在我們的動機之後。 即使是明顯為善的行動，若

我們發心的根本為自私，其利益只有極少。 

任何以智慧和無私為動機所做的行為，都是我們自己

佛性的一個展現。
