Accidental finding

I saw my sister is taking Propolis for allergic rinitis. She told me it's good for sore throat and wound infection. That attracts my attention. So I google it with HIV. And bingo, it was proved in vivo to defense HIV virus invasion to CD4 cell and microglia cell. http://www1.umn.edu/umnnews/Feature_Stories/Propolis_an_ancient_remedy_may_fight_AIDS.html

I started taking it while I was at home. And I got a cheaper local made bottle from Cosmed. The one my sister taking is from New zealand made by Escents wich costs 1200 for 25 ml. Wow, that's pricy a bit. The higher content of propolis flavonoid level is Comvita which also from New zealand but even more expensive. But when I searched from ebay. A-ha, just like what I am thinking. It's the way much cheaper outside of taiwan. Sometimes I just don't get it why the supplement including multivitamin price is plus plus plus here, even the local made. Is that because our market too small to share the cost? Or the saler treat consumer as fool. It seems not so fair. Its supplement from natural resources, not medications have to invest lots of money in research, experiments, and proved by FDA. Even though the medications, there are huge profit behind it. I remember watched some movies telling in the future the whole world is controlled by a pharmaceutical company, because they are holding a medication which is the only cure for the devastating disease. oh well, it may comes true if we don't do something for it.

Beside from propolis, I also saw a comercial on TV talking about silk protein for cosmetic. And it mention Japanese scientist also found out this silk protein actually can inhibit HIV virus to fuse with CD4 cell by blocking the HIV binding site itself. I was quit not sure until google it. I cannot find exactly the article from japan, but I did find some translation article in simplify chinese. Oh well, not really that I like to complain but we are kinda information fall behind compare to another side of ocean.  How sad!
