Chateau De Malleret 2004 12.5%

23 C: deep purple red

23 N: full of spices, some peppers, black berry, cherry, a little liquorices, followed by some roasted toast, a little smoke, then some black current, quince, and macchiato, still variant and active, very good layers

22 T: light to medium, good acid, silk like tannins, moderately, very tenderness, blossom, and smooth, obviously spices, pepper, black current, quince and mocha, a little plum, creamy at the end

23 F: long, very good layers and structure, deep, elegant and fragrant, some animals, wet paper, oaky, spices and peppers. A sweet and lovely bottle with good texture and tannins, better to drink for the next 2~3 years. Suitable for lamp, tender baked steak

 

Chateau Lagrange 2002 13%

23 C: deep purple red

23 N: cherry, black current, tobacco from begin, followed by some mineral stone, w/ a little land, smoky, then some ripe plum, violet, a little basil, peppers, very good layers

22 T: semi-sour, good texture, full of tannins, silk like, medium body, not sweet at all. Full of tobacco, a little smoky wood, pencil, then becomes more rich, some liquorices comes up at the end

22 F: long, good variant and layers, raspberry, tobacco, still active, even no need to decant. A classic Saint Julien, better drink within 2~3 years.
