膽固醇不是心臟病的主因?!!!~

凡是健康的題目, 還蠻愛讀的, 但讀了, 又有疑問:

(1)   不方便 - 當市面上90%都是非本然健康的食品, 你一個人刻意找很健康的食品, 會製造他人的不便, 當然也形成自己的不便

(2)   新的執念- 刻意要健康, 有商人知道了, 便形成一個勾, 勾你, 你以為吃了健康, 沒想到碰到胖達人

(3)   為何是我(或你或他)? – 同樣曝露在食品危機中, 為何大家吃了沒事, 就你有事? 以本文為例, 在講心血管等慢性病, 雖然比例高, 但不是大家都有問題, 為何是你?

回到本文, 這位心臟科醫生語重心長承認醫界有誤.

 

大家以為心血管疾病, 就是血濃血濁, 膽固醇做怪. 所以治療時除了降低膽固醇, 就是控制<低脂>飲食. 但奇怪的是, 這並未讓心血管病的人減少, 反而越來越多, 還有年輕化的趨勢.

 

這位醫師直指問題在慢性發炎 不在大家以為的膽固醇 什麼是發炎? 以簡單的比喻, 就像拿著砂紙不斷磨著你的血管壁, 想像久了會怎樣? 就是不斷受傷

 

什麼造成發炎? 加工過的食品以氫化處理過的油 像大豆油, Omega-6脂肪的油, 以及以這油做成的糕點等等. 這些只是為了延長保存期限,人體卻無法有效處理吸收的東西,人體會以發炎現象回應; 不斷發炎的結果就是這些慢性病

 

這位醫生的建議,盡量回到阿嬤時代的煮家,身兼職業婦女的媽媽從超市帶回的食品少吃, 就是最根本; 用油部份,減少omega6的比例, 或是平衡回到omega6:omega3 = 3:1的比例

我們身為醫生, 一路受專業訓練, 養成的權威很難承認自己錯了. 在這裏,我要承認這個錯誤. 身為一名心臟科醫生, 25年經驗, 執行超過5000次以上的開心手術, 今天想以醫學與科學上的事實做個更正. 我與其他同業, 一向被認為是意見風向球的人. 整天被一堆科學論文轟炸, 持續參加學術論壇, 我們會說心臟病起因於血脂肪升高(血的膽固醇)

唯一的治療就是開藥降低膽固醇, 嚴格控制飲食, 特別是脂肪的攝取. 後者(飲食)我們堅持能降低膽固醇跟心臟病的發生. 跟這有不同的建議很可能造成誤診

~~~ 這不管用!

這類的建議不再有效, 幾年前發現動脈管壁的發炎才是心臟病的主因

長期建立的飲食建議造成慢性肥胖與糖尿病, 在致命性, 受的傷害與經濟後果都相當驚人, 比起以前的瘟疫有過之而無不及

儘管我們試圖降低脂肪的攝取, 卻有25%的人口在服用字尾statin的藥物(臨床上用於治療高膽固醇血症. 也是目前最常被用於預防原發性或次發性冠狀動脈疾病.)

美國心臟協會顯示, 75百萬美國人受心臟病之苦, 2千萬人有糖尿病, 57百萬人有糖尿病前症, 這樣的失調每年大量地影響越來越年輕的人

簡單說, 沒有體內先發炎, 膽固醇不可能在血管累積造成心臟病或中風. 沒有發炎, 膽固醇會有流動性. 是【發炎】才讓膽固醇堆積起來

發炎不難懂, 它是人體對於外來物, 像毒素, 病毒.., 的自然防衛反應. 但如果我們一直讓身體曝露在毒素, 或人體不太能處理的食品下, 會產生慢性發炎. 慢性發炎本是要防衛身體卻變成傷害身體.

有任何深思熟慮的人會把自己不斷曝露在明明對自己有害的食品或物質下嗎? , 抽煙的人, 也許, 不過他們是思考過的

血管壁的發炎是因為低脂飲食導致

大部份的人遵循主流飲食方式, 低脂, 高度不飽和脂肪與碳水化合物,完全無知於自己正在持續傷害血管, 這樣持續的傷害會導致慢性發炎,帶來心臟疾病, 中風, 糖尿病與肥胖

血管壁的傷害與發炎是因為低脂飲食導致

什麼是慢性發炎的最大禍首呢? 很簡單, 他們是超載的高度加工的碳水化合物(,麵粉, 以及加工品), 過度食用Omega6植物油, 像大豆油, 葵花油等等

花點時間觀想一下,好比你拿著硬刷刮柔軟的皮膚,一直刮, 直到它變紅幾乎滲血. 你一天重覆這樣的行為好幾次, 每天, 連續五年 如果你能忍受這樣的疼痛, 你會有個滲血, 腫脹的感染區域, 每受一次傷害就更惡化. 這是瞭解什麼叫發炎最好的比喻

不管發炎從那裏發生, 身體外部或內在, 都一樣. 我看過千百條千百條的動脈.一條受傷的動脈好比一個人用硬刷毛來回刮血管壁. 每天數次, 每天, 我們所吃的食物會產生小小傷害, 再累積疊成更多傷害, 讓身體以發炎來回應

吃個簡單的甜食怎模會產生這樣的發炎讓你生病?

想像一下你把糖漿潑在鍵盤上, 就可連想到細胞內會發生什麼狀況? 當我們吃簡當的碳水化合物, 像糖, 血糖立即升高. 你的胰臟會分泌胰島素, 主要目的是將糖轉為能量儲存在細胞中. 當細胞儲滿, 它會拒絕(葡萄)糖避免儲存過多

更正Omega3平衡

讓我們回到甜捲. 這個小點心不僅含糖, 還是用像大豆油這類含Omega6脂肪的油做的. 加工食品也是由Omega6的油做的,為了保存期限拉長. Omega6必需脂肪酸, 是構成細胞膜的主要成份, 而細胞膜在控制養份廢物的進出, 它們必需與Omega3組成一個平衡的比例

因為過度使用Omega6, 這個平衡比例跑掉了, 細胞膜產生化學物質叫細胞激素直接導致發炎

今天美國主流的飲食習慣, 在這兩種脂肪酸, Omega6Omega3, 是極度失衡的. 今天比例是: 15:1, 甚至到30:1.產生大量細胞激素因而導致發炎. 今天的飲食環境要調整回3:1才是健康比例 

人體無法處理, 也不是天生設計來食用專以Omega6油做的烘培的加工食品

更糟的是, 因為吃這些食物造成體重超重, 製造過多脂肪細胞, 釋放出發炎前導物質增加. 只是吃個甜捲, 一段時間後就會產生心臟病, 高血壓, 糖尿病, 最後是阿滋海默症

不可否認的事時, 我們吃越多加工食品, 越會啟動身體發炎過程. 人體無法處理,也不是生來吃這類食物, 以糖, omega6去處理的, 罐裝的食物

只有一種方法能中止發炎現象, 回歸到接近自然的食物, 讓身體長肌肉不長肥肉, 多吃蛋白質.選擇複雜式的碳水化合物如彩色蔬果. 減少食用大豆油之類的Omega6的油, 以及以此做的食品




健康與不健康的油

動物油脂含低於20%Omega6,產生發炎的可能性很低. 忘了多年科學試圖給你洗腦的知識. 飽和脂肪造成心臟病的說法不存在. 飽和脂肪增加血脂肪的說法也很薄弱. 因為我們知道膽固醇不是心臟病的主因, 飽和性脂肪的疑慮在今天顯得很可笑

膽固醇的說法引申到要吃低脂的結論, 低脂飲食的建議正是造成今天發炎流行症候群的主因. 主流醫藥犯了大錯, 要人們避開飽和脂肪含Omega6的食物. 我們現在普遍的動脈發炎導致心臟病與其它沉默殺手

你能做的就是選擇祖母時代的食物, 而不是媽媽下班後轉去超市買的(加工)食品. 去掉致發炎食品, 多從新鮮食物獲取養份, 逆轉多年來對身體造成的傷害.


We physicians with all our training, knowledge and authority often acquire a rather large ego that tends to make it difficult to admit we are wrong. So, here it is. I freely admit to being wrong.. As a heart surgeon with 25 years experience, having performed over 5,000 open-heart surgeries,today is my day to right the wrong with medical and scientific fact.I trained for many years with other prominent physicians labelled “opinion makers.” Bombarded with scientific literature, continually attending education seminars, we opinion makers insisted heart disease resulted from the simple fact of elevated blood cholesterol.

The only accepted therapy was prescribing medications to lower cholesterol and a diet that severely restricted fat intake. The latter of course we insisted would lower cholesterol and heart disease. Deviations from these recommendations were considered heresy and could quite possibly result in malpractice.

It Is Not Working!

These recommendations are no longer scientifically or morally defensible. The discovery a few years ago that inflammation in the artery wall is the real cause of heart disease is slowly leading to a paradigm shift in how heart disease and other chronic ailments will be treated.

Despite the fact that 25% of the population takes expensive statin medications and despite the fact we have reduced the fat content of our diets, more Americans will die this year of heart disease than ever before.

Statistics from the American Heart Association show that 75 million Americans currently suffer from heart disease, 20 million have diabetes and 57 million have pre-diabetes. These disorders are affecting younger and younger people in greater numbers every year.

Simply stated, without inflammation being present in the body, there is no way that cholesterol would accumulate in the wall of the blood vessel and cause heart disease and strokes. Without inflammation, cholesterol would move freely throughout the body as nature intended. It is inflammation that causes cholesterol to become trapped.

Inflammation is not complicated

Inflammation is not complicated — it is quite simply your body’s natural defence to a foreign invader such as a bacteria, toxin or virus. The cycle of inflammation is perfect in how it protects your body from these bacterial and viral invaders. However, if we chronically expose the body to injury by toxins or foods the human body was never designed to process,a condition occurs called chronic inflammation. Chronic inflammation is just as harmful as acute inflammation is beneficial.

What thoughtful person would willfully expose himself repeatedly to foods or other substances that are known to cause injury to the body? Well,smokers perhaps, but at least they made that choice willfully.

The rest of us have simply followed the recommended mainstream diet that is low in fat and high in polyunsaturated fats and carbohydrates, not knowing we were causing repeated injury to our blood vessels. This repeated injury creates chronic inflammation leading to heart disease, stroke, diabetes and obesity.

Let me repeat that: The injury and inflammation in our blood vessels is caused by the low fat diet recommended for years by mainstream medicine.

What are the biggest culprits of chronic inflammation? Quite simply, they are the overload of simple, highly processed carbohydrates (sugar, flour and all the products made from them) and the excess consumption of omega-6 vegetable oils like soybean, corn and sunflower that are found in many processed foods.

Take a moment to visualize rubbing a stiff brush repeatedly over soft skin until it becomes quite red and nearly bleeding. you kept this up several times a day, every day for five years. If you could tolerate this painful brushing, you would have a bleeding, swollen infected area that became worse with each repeated injury. This is a good way to visualize the inflammatory process that could be going on in your body right now.

Regardless of where the inflammatory process occurs, externally or internally, it is the same. I have peered inside thousands upon thousands of arteries. A diseased artery looks as if someone took a brush and scrubbed repeatedly against its wall. Several times a day, every day, the foods we eat create small injuries compounding into more injuries, causing the body to respond continuously and appropriately with inflammation.

While we savor the tantalizing taste of a sweet roll, our bodies respond alarmingly as if a foreign invader arrived declaring war. Foods loaded with sugars and simple carbohydrates, or processed withomega-6 oils for long shelf life have been the mainstay of the American diet for six decades. These foods have been slowly poisoning everyone.

How does eating a simple sweet roll create a cascade of inflammation to make you sick?

Imagine spilling syrup on your keyboard and you have a visual of what occurs inside the cell. When we consume simple carbohydrates such as sugar, blood sugar rises rapidly. In response, your pancreas secretes insulin whose primary purpose is to drive sugar into each cell where it is stored for energy. If the cell is full and does not need glucose, it is rejected to avoid extra sugar gumming up the works.

When your full cells reject the extra glucose, blood sugar rises producing more insulin and the glucose converts to stored fat.

When you spike your blood sugar level several times a day, every day, it is exactly like taking sandpaper to the inside of your delicate blood vessels
What does all this have to do with inflammation? Blood sugar is controlled in a very narrow range. Extra sugar molecules attach to a variety of proteins that in turn injure the blood vessel wall. This repeated injury to the blood vessel wall sets off inflammation. When you spike your blood sugar level several times a day, every day, it is exactly like taking sandpaper to the inside of your delicate blood vessels.

While you may not be able to see it, rest assured it is there. I saw it in over 5,000 surgical patients spanning 25 years who all shared one common denominator — inflammation in their arteries.

Correct omega-3 Balance

Let’s get back to the sweet roll. That innocent looking goody not only contains sugars, it is baked in one of many omega-6 oils such as soybean. Chips and fries are soaked in soybean oil; processed foods are manufactured with omega-6 oils for longer shelf life. While omega-6’s are essential -they are part of every cell membrane controlling what goes in and out of the cell — they must be in the correct balance with omega-3’s.

If the balance shifts by consuming excessive omega-6, the cell membrane produces chemicals called cytokines that directly cause inflammation.

Today’s mainstream American diet has produced an extreme imbalance of these two fats. The ratio of imbalance ranges from 15:1 to as high as 30:1 in favor of omega-6. That’s a tremendous amount of cytokines causing inflammation. In today’s food environment, a 3:1 ratio would be optimal and healthy.

The human body cannot process, nor was it designed to consume, foods packed with sugars and soaked in omega-6 oils.
To make matters worse, the excess weight you are carrying from eating these foods creates overloaded fat cells that pour out large quantities of pro-inflammatory chemicals that add to the injury caused by having high blood sugar. The process that began with a sweet roll turns into a vicious cycle over time that creates heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes and finally, Alzheimer’s disease, as the inflammatory process continues unabated.

There is no escaping the fact that the more we consume prepared and processed foods, the more we trip the inflammation switch little by little each day. The human body cannot process, nor was it designed to consume, foods packed with sugars and soaked in omega-6 oils.

There is but one answer to quieting inflammation, and that is returning to foods closer to their natural state. To build muscle, eat more protein. Choose carbohydrates that are very complex such as colorful fruits and vegetables. Cut down on or eliminate inflammation- causing omega-6 fats like corn and soybean oil and the processed foods that are made from them.

Healthy vs Un-Healthy Fats

One tablespoon of corn oil contains 7,280 mg of omega-6; soybean contains 6,940 mg. Instead, use olive oil or butter from grass-fed beef.

Forget the “science” that has been drummed into your head for decades
Animal fats contain less than 20% omega-6 and are much less likely to cause inflammation than the supposedly healthy oils labelled polyunsaturated. Forget the “science” that has been drummed into your head for decades. The science that saturated fat alone causes heart disease is non-existent. The science that saturated fat raises blood cholesterol is also very weak. Since we now know that cholesterol is not the cause of heart disease, the concern about saturated fat is even more absurd today.

The cholesterol theory led to the no-fat, low-fat recommendations that in turn created the very foods now causing an epidemic of inflammation. Mainstream medicine made a terrible mistake when it advised people to avoid saturated fat in favor of foods high in omega-6 fats. We now have an epidemic of arterial inflammation leading to heart disease and other silent killers.

What you can do is choose whole foods your grandmother served and not those your mom turned to as grocery store aisles filled with manufactured foods. By eliminating inflammatory foods and adding essential nutrients from fresh unprocessed food, you will reverse years of damage in your arteries and throughout your body from consuming the typical American diet
