Dead Sea

Translated by SFT

Jerusalem is at about 770 meters (2500 feet) above the sea level, whereas the surface of the Dead Sea  is about 397 meters (1300 feet) below the sea level.  Therefore, there are only 2 small uphill rides from Jerusalem to the Dead Sea; the rest are all downhill, which also means it would be mostly uphill ride the other way.  Which reminds me of another story... When I see you please ask me to tell you the story of my journey to school everyday when I was a boy. It was 14 km round trip on my bike, uphill both ways.  And then there was the snow...

Yi has been cycling for 2 years; nonetheless upon hearing the news, she decided to change the transportation to travel around.

However, our budget is tight,

so at the 0 sea level, we had to return the camel to the owner and then continue pedaling.

The Dead Sea is located at the border of Israel and Jordan and it’s the lowest place on earth.  The Dead Sea is 377 meters (1,237 feet) deep with the highest mineral concentration in the world.  Thus visitors can float on the Dead Sea effortlessly.

For the female friends,

the most attracting aspect of the Dead Sea is its mud and salt water, famous for its beauty effect.

Let me also give it a try. Humm... where do I need the most mud applied?  Any suggestions?

Floating, I was looking at the map to check where we should go next so that we would not get lost.

After visiting the Dead Sea,

we
headed to Jeriho, passing through Vered Yeriho.

We purchased our food supply at the store and also got on the net.

We were ready for the uphill rides.  Please check back to our blog for the continued adventures of our biking journey around the world.
